Poverty

CoinsBecause you did not serve the Lord your God joyfully and gladly in the time of prosperity, therefore in hunger and thirst, in nakedness and dire poverty, you will serve the enemies the Lord sends against you. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until he has destroyed you.

Deuteronomy 28:47-48

All throughout the Old and New Covenant, poverty is a part of the curse.  It is said, it doesn’t take much time of the hunger of famine to humble a man.  The same is true of poverty.

Christ’s Kingdom, Paul writes, consists of Righteousness, Peace, and Joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17).  When Paul wrote of not muzzling the ox that is treading out the grain, he said that the reason was that the plowman should plow in hope (1 Corinthians 9:10).

Psalm 105:21-22

A man can either be a servant, or a slave.

To be a servant is one who works for someone for a wage, and uses that wage to provide for their own needs. The slave, on the other hand, is fully dependant upon his master. The slave still works, but the master is in charge of the entire well-being of the individual. Whether the slave is well-provided for, or little, it is all in the hands of someone else.

Abiding in Love

We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

The place of the anointing is love.  Without love, even the greatest faith counts for nothing.

This is the dominating motivating factor above all else in a minister.  It was for love that God sent His servants the prophets and His own son to die.  It was for love that Jesus obeyed, and suffered.  It was for love that man was restored.
