Beacon

April 29th, 2012

That you may show yourselves to be blameless and guiltless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish (faultless, unrebukable) in the midst of a crooked and wicked generation [spiritually perverted and perverse], among whom you are seen as bright lights (stars or beacons shining out clearly) in the [dark] world,

Philippians 2:15 AMP

Those who teach righteousness will show as stars in the heavens for all of time. Surely, even as Jesus said that the one who breaks the least command and teaches others to as well shall be the least in the kingdom, righteousness and justice truly are the foundation of His throne.

He is the Father of lights, and His children are children of light. As we walk in the light as He Is in the light, we have fellowship one with another.

Those who are righteous shine with His light. We are the light of this world, the only thing that makes the world be able even To know what direction to go. It is the pure heart, the undefined and clean heart, that is able to see God. Those with other plans or intents within will not see Him.

Truly, it is in the light that God has ordained that we should walk, and there is no other…

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

2 Timothy 2:19

Christ was the light, for He was the only righteous man. Now today, we are lights when His righteousness shines through our lives!

As the light of Christ shines, it polarizes. It makes manifest what is there. Even as John 3:19-21 says, light had come into the world, but men loved darkness rather than the light. It was because Jesus came and did the works, let His works be seen, and manifested His glory to the world, that men stood in such responsibility to believe. But, because He did, and because they did, many will believe. Many also may hate us, but it is in the light of his Grace, as demonstrated through a spotless, irreproachable life, that many will turn to salvation.

And if the world does hate us, it hates Him first, but it will not be in vain. For the light that He has given will not be removed, and of the increase of His government ad peace there shall be no end. Isaiah 9:7.

But, if there is a light that distracts, reveals, and uncovers even the hearts and mysteries of men, then surely there is a definite code of right and wrong.  And, for sure we know that there is, for He wrote it in His very book, and on the tablets of stone.

But, you see, there is a difference between a truth known and a truth lived, or believed.

Once you know the truth, it begins to function in you, like a bulb screwed put into place.  It is the seed sown upon the ground.  But then comes the sun.  The true test of the seed is whether it will grow.  Do you hide your light when it comes time to shine, or do you put it out there and let it fall where it may?  Some are they which wither because they have no root, Jesus said.

But again, this is a light that penetrates to the very hearts of men.  Even to my heart, for you cannot escape this flame.  The sword has two edges and is very sharp.  When that light begins to shine, it is easy to get diverted to other things.  So too, our light, if allow other things to cover up the lamp, to hide it if you will, it will not penetrate as deeply into the darkness, nor into our own.  For, at times, we do not allow it to shine as brightly as it could, for fear it would require more of us than we are willing and ready to give.

But, there is a heart that puts it on a stand, the only thing that can stand, which is the truth.  And, with a faith that is proof, it lights its lamp, doesn’t hide it under a bushel, and though it may blind and infuriate some, for, as Jesus said, their deeds were evil, the true light, the only true light, came to bring salvation to the whole world.

Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.

See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the LORD rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.

Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn.

Isaiah 60:1-3
