All The Way

January 1st, 2012

Lord, I commit to you all the way.  No holding back, no part of this life which is over.

You said that I am crucified to this world, and that is what I am.  No part of this world is worthy of you, so I take nothing of it before you.  Into your hands, I commit my spirit.

There is nothing this world has to offer.  I hate it, with all of it’s corruption.  While I may be in it, I am not of it.  For I have died.  I am crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but it is Christ that lives in me.  The life I live, I live by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.  Galatians 2:20.

Where else could I go?  What else could I do?  But give this life, wholly to you?

How else can I be?  And How else can I see?  But to be given over to thee.

I don’t want fame.  I don’t want money.  I don’t want popularity or women.  I want the infilling, I want the baptism.

Nothing else matters.  May I be overshadowed as Mary was in Luke 1:35.  May I clothed by your Spirit like Gideon in Judges 6:34.  May I be possessed like Jesus was at His baptism.

I must chose, by your grace, in faith.  I choose to hate this life, and love only you.  I choose to love the discipline of the Spirit.  Though it may be hard, though it may be taxing to the fleshly life, I choose to rest my belief in you alone, and let the weariness of the flesh be of no avail.  There is no truth in it yet in the Holy Ghost you renew me day by day, and your strength is unceasing.  And, as I wait on you, I am changed (Isaiah 40:31).

I will love you Oh Lord my strength, so long as I have breath in me.  I will cleave and cling to you unceasingly, until I gaze upon you.  Like in Job 19:26, after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God.

What is man that you are mindful of Him, the son of man that you care for Him?  For you have made Him a little lower than Elohim, and have crowned Him with glory and splendor (Psalm 8:4-5).

I want to be crowned with you, robed with you.  I want you and you alone to be my shield and my great reward.

To gaze upon you is to see forever, and to know Eternity.

To see you is to know everything (John 1:4).

I do not know the way to go, but my eyes are upon you, Oh Lord, and I can trust in your awesome greatness.  Your will is for my good, and my desire, to see it fulfilled.

May you be magnified through my life, and none other.  May you alone be glorified and lifted up.  May you receive all the honor and praise that you are due.  For I am a servant, a slave, at your call.  And, what you desire, may that I fulfill.  I require nothing, yet you satisfy me with good things, and with it your servant is well-pleased.  Your boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places (Psalm 16:6).

Satisfy me with truth, your word is truth.  I know that all your commands lead to life.  Let me be found to take refuge, shelter, in the shadow of your hand, that I might abide in you always.  For nothing is hid from you, and nothing is missed by you.  Your gaze searches the whole Earth.

I celebrate in your life, in your victory and salvation won for me.  I rejoice in God my savior, who has given to me the victory.  For not by the strength of the bow, nor with the arms of the flesh have you rescued me, but by your own self, by your own deliverance have you worked in my life.  And, in it, I am at rest.

Deep called to deep, and out from Egypt you have called your son.  By your right hand, you have led us forth from the darkness.  And, we are entered into life, and have seen it quite well.

May you be increased in our midst, and may our eye never cease from gazing upon you, and never have our fill, for we require you always.

In your life I find rest, I find peace.  In your truth I reside.

Show me your way, Oh Lord, and lead me in the way everlasting.

For I know that this life is but a shadow, a breath.  And, only your life resides through all ages.  Many have come and gone, but you remain forever.

Take me, Lord, all the way, all the way.  Take me, over and over, until you are satisfied.  Take me, and use me, and turn me over and over and over again, and run through me, until you’re delighted to remain.  Let this overtake and consume me, until I am always yours.

One thing I ask of the Lord, this one thing I seek, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, that I may gaze upon the beauty of the Lord, and that I might inquire of Him in His temple.  For surely in the day of trouble, He will hide me in His Tabernacle.  Psalm 27:4-5

Until the stars fall and until the mountains flee away at your coming, may your glory be revealed in me, day by day, until the end.

With single eyes, and a simple heart, I come.  No other gaze, no other loves, no other focus, forever.  This world is not my comfort, and I have no other supply.

In Jesus Name.  Until I’m home.
