My Yoke is Easy

April 28th, 2012 Comments off

At that time Jesus began to say, I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth [and I acknowledge openly and joyfully to Your honor], that You have hidden these things from the wise and clever and learned, and revealed them to babies [to the childish, untaught, and unskilled]. Yes, Father, [I praise You that] such was Your gracious will and good pleasure.

All things have been entrusted and delivered to Me by My Father; and no one fully knows and accurately understands the Son except the Father, and no one fully knows and accurately understands the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son deliberately wills to make Him known.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]  Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.  For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good–not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.

Matthew 11:25-30

The Christian life fully lived is the easy, good, and unburdensome life.  Faith, when lived, does not take any great effort to maintain.  As we learn from Christ, as we put Him on and stand in His overcoming Spirit, He that is greater than us withstands the wiles and opportunities of the enemy, the world, and our flesh.

The Spiritual Man #8 – Punish Every Disobedience

March 11th, 2012 Comments off

The fullness of the Spiritual life is a heart inspired by love that walks in responsibility.

Jesus, our Pattern and Teacher, was a man under authority.  Much was given to Him, and much was required of Him from the Father.

When the Life of the Spirit and the love of our Savior grows to such a point, it encompasses and takes the place of every other thing.  It is our all in all.  While for some, this may come quickly, for others, it has grown over time.

But, the place of the Spiritual man is life in Christ.

There is no life in another.  He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

For Paul said that when our obedience is made perfect, our every disobedience would be punished.

Is this at odds with the Cross and the Grace of God?  No more than continuing to sin that Grace would abound.

The Spiritual Man #3 – Beatitude

March 6th, 2012 Comments off

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

1 John 1:1-4 KJV

Jesus came to Earth and spoke concerning the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of Heaven.

He uttered secret things, things hidden from the foundation of the World.

He spoke in metaphors, parables, so that the masses might not hear, yet hearing not receive.

He, the Teacher, taught to not be understood?  He was the perfect one, who knew that all righteousness and perfection must be fulfilled, perfectly.

Right Belief

February 29th, 2012 Comments off

Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.

Mark 12:29

Right belief and right doctrine, ultimately, are the same.  God is one.  He is not separate from Himself in any part, nor is there any shadow no matter which way you look at Him.  It could be said that to know any part of the Lord perfectly is to know all of God perfectly.

You see, while righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne, you cannot have true righteousness without true wrath.  You likewise, in the full scope of God’s character have true justice without true mercy, true punishment, true grace, and every other part of who God is.  God, in everything He does is perfect, in wisdom, depth, insight–every facet.

The Foundation

January 6th, 2012 Comments off

Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

Hebrews 6:1-2

Paul lists 6 things in Hebrews 6:1-2 that he lists as essential doctrines for the church for progressing further into spiritual things.  Without these pieces, we cannot build successfully in the Spirit what God would have for His house.  Each piece is important, and often builds on one another, until the whole foundation is laid.  It is only after the foundations, the fundamentals are secured in a living and active way that the whole house can be properly built up.

House on the Rock

December 22nd, 2011 Comments off

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

Matthew 7:24-25

The words of Jesus still speak to us today, directly where we need it the most.  In a day when things a shaking around us, and power ministries are reaching levels where the pressures cause great collapses in ministry, the “words in red” speak directly to the heart of the problem, as they have for nearly 2000 years.

Jesus said, if you have heard His words and do them, your house will be built upon the solid rock, and even when the storms come (and they will come), your house remains standing, no matter what pressures come.
