The Secret Place

May 10th, 2012

Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!
Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

Psalm 31:19-20

Hidden, locked away from the world, from the strife of man.  Protected in the shadow of the Almighty.  The Lord shalt hide me in His Secret place.

In His presence, in His joy and belonging, I am covered and hid.  Though I dwell among the Earth, I am protected from it.  For, the Lord knows how to preserve His saints, and He will hide His beloved in the cleft of the rock.

In His presence, in His delight, is all my joy.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

Psalm 91:1-4

Within the flame of God, the essence of who He is, the very presence of the Almighty, is no fear or shame.  There is no terror of the night, nor arrow by the day.  There is no heat of the day to beat upon you, nor cold of the night to make you afraid.  In the absence of the darkness, there is rest for the soul.

All day long do I dwell within His courts.  Every moment do I long for His moving.  For, if I let my eye drift to another, I have not solidity, but with Him alone is my rock.

He upholds me, and I am kept.  Though the nations about are tumultuous, He alone is my stay.

Though a thousand my fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand, it will not come nigh me.  Only with my eye will I look on and see the punishment of the wicked.

I will look upon His face in righteousness.  I dwell within His beauty.  I will make known my praise to the most high.  And, I will not falter (2 Peter 1:10).

He who dwells in the secret place of the presence of the Almighty shall abide under His wing.

As a mother goose with her gosling keeps it warm, so the Lord is my covering and my mother, and I shall never want.
