The Uttermost

January 4th, 2012

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Acts 1:8

Unto the farthest measure, marker, and beyond.  To least of the least, to the last of the last.  Paul said that it was the apostles that were carried away like those condemned to die.  Every day they faced martyrdom, elements, desolation, and infirmities of the flesh.  And, every day, the Lord strengthened them.

Unto the uttermost parts of the Earth.  Unto the farthest of the far, and then some.  The last mile can seem the most expensive, but it is the most profitable.  What is the price of one soul?  What is the price of eternal judgement?

Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

1 Thessalonians 2:16

The uttermost wrath had come.  And, the uttermost judgement.  For they filled up their sins by forbidding us to speak.  Thus the end had come, thus their judgement was assured.  Where there is no light, men can only walk in darkness, and to those who would prevent the light from being shine, it is there that only God that can break through.

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Hebrews 7:25

For in salvation He is quite capable to save to the uttermost.  He prays, yearns, and intercedes on our behalf.  When all else fails, we have an intercessor in Heaven.  If we can touch and agree with any other soul, He is there with us, and this three-fold cord is not easily broken.

Who can pull from His hand?  He is mighty to save to the uttermost, and He will, so long as we call.

So, the Gospel proclamation goes forth.  To the uttermost, beyond the uttermost, and for the uttermost.

If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

Psalm 139:9-10

Wherever we go, He is able to find us.  In Him, we do not escape.  To the farthest extent of all of creation, we are visible to Him.  Our every thought, impulse, and action is laid bare.  And, in the uttermost, he is with me, and holds me.  What have I to fear?  Where have I to go?

And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.

1 Kings 6:24 KJV

For He overshadows me, as I take refuge in His secret place.  I am sheltered to the uttermost, because of His loving kindness.  He searches me in my deepest place and knows me, even there.  Even in the shadows, I am found in Him, and I am held.  There is no distance to great, and no pressure too strong.  For He Himself, dwells under the uttermost shelter of the wings of the cherubim, not for need, but of worth.  Of Glory.

For this is our God.  And, this is our King.

Who is this King of Glory?  The Lord, Strong and Mighty, He is the King of Glory.

Who is this King of Glory?  The Lord mighty in battle, he is the King of Glory.

And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

Mark 13:27

And when that last day comes, when the end of the end of the end is nigh, He has not forgotten.  He sees, and He knows the breadth, the width, the length, and height of a man.  He knows our frame, that we are dust.

And, as Job exclaimed, when my skin is rotted and gone, in my flesh, I will see God.

For the one true God has shed His light for all men in Jesus Christ.

And His command stands throughout all our generations.  Go, preach the gospel, in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the Earth.

For the greatest thing this world has ever known is not from it, but came from above.  The most wonderful thing, Love Himself, came down, became flesh, and dwelt among us.

And, so we preach, proclaim, until they take our head.

Until we stand on that sea, singing the song of the Lamb.

Forever as He gives us leave, only to pause, and with the elders, cast down our crowns, and sing.

Holy! Holy! Holy! is the Lord God Almighty.  Who was, and is, and is to come.

Worthy is He.

Great and mighty is the Lord our God.

To the Uttermost.
